:: Happy Thanksgiving! ::

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd take a moment to write a Thanksgiving post, since I'm spending Thanksgiving in a non-thanksgiving-celebrating country... which apparently makes me miss the holiday more than when I just spend it at Bryn Mawr. Go figure.

Anyway, I had decided I wasn't going to do anything for the holiday-- they were doing a Thanksgiving meal for the study abroads but it sounded like it would be way more people than I wanted to deal with, and by now I'm a little used to spending the holiday away from home. However, the other day I was talking to Domonique, who also didn't have plans, and we decided to have dinner together on Thanksgiving. Well, I was just going to make some chicken korma that I had bought for myself earlier in the week but suddenly I woke up this morning and was totally and completely consumed by the need to cook. The result: I purchased a pre-seasoned and stuffed (parsnip and apple stuffing, yum!) whole chicken that I'm cooking up a long with a really delish sounding rice pilaf (an Emeril recipe, therefore it must be good) and my (dare I say) famous cranberry bread. The cranberry bread was finally decided upon after I found REAL, fresh cranberries at the big Sainsburys. Unfortunately the city of Bristol appears not to believe in loaf pans, so it's currently baking in this weird little round pan I bought (kind of like a cake pan only smaller.) I have a feeling its going to rise above the edge of the pan and turn into something very much like a giant muffin. It'll taste good either way though.

So... yeah... there's my thanksgiving.. or at least what's passed of it so far. Domonique is making a salad and has purchased wine for us (a shiraz rose primarily chosen for the little Devil on the bottle-- clearly Domonique chooses wines a lot like I do, haha.) Mmmm. Can't wait!
