:: Quick update... ::

....before I spend the next few days working my ass off.

First of all, sorry about all the radio confusion last week. Despite my best efforts to harass my friends into listening to my show, the fates ganged up on me and the server went down. No good. Since I'm fairly certain the only person who was able to listen to any of my show was my mom, the Addiction playlist will be rebroadcast this wednesday. I was really proud of it and I'd hate to have it go to waste on account of computer issues.

In other news, I'm a moron. The reason why I'm buried under work is totally my own fault.... except it's not due to the usual procrastination. No, as it turns out in my original attempt to be responsible, I accidentally wrote down in my calendar that my big presentation for Maritime Archaeology was due *next* week. Whoops! As it turns out it's due THIS week. Which is truly unfortunate since I also have the formative essay for theology class due on thursday. Needless to say this was not a pleasant realization to make with less than a week to get everything done. Thank goodness I don't have as much time spent in class here or else I'd be well and truly screwed. Unfortunately I've really been in lazy mode here so getting everything back into gear has been positively painful. At least I'm not used to getting much sleep as of late.

And that's another thing... I've become rather nocturnal over the past couple weeks and this really needs to be undone. I'm hoping that the exhaustion produced by the next couple days will get me back on track.

This weekend (provided that I survive the next couple days... oh who am I kidding, on some level I like being this miserable) I am going to Cardiff with LGBT soc. Since we all already paid our dues the bus there and back is only £5 !!!! I'm really excited check out another city. Also, it looks like Dominique and I are gonna try to head into london to catch a show-- hopefully Les Mis. That should be fabulous-- I still haven't ever seen a performance of it, despite knowing most of the show by heart (thanks in large part to performing it back in junior year, and also to the great les mis-obsession revival of winter 2005/2006.) We've also talked about fitting in a trip to Edinburgh, so hopefully that will work out as well.

Well, I think that's about it for now. My goal for the evening is to do the powerpoint presentation for my talk on the Hunley. Wish me luck... and alertness! Once I finish the stuff for this week i'm going to start taking books out for my paper and presentation for medieval Britain and Ireland so I don't find myself in a similar state. ...And hopefully that will go by in a timely fashion so that I can get a head start on the work that'll be due after break so that when I have visitors I can actually spend time with them (fancy that!)

Oh yeah, and YAY for visitors! What a lovely way to start the New Year : )
